Health & Wellbeing CoRe focuses on research to enhance quality of life especially in the scope of health and wellbeing. Our ultimate aspiration is to create a balanced and comprehensive platform within the HW CoRe for researchers who share the same passion and enthusiasm to facilitate effective, efficient and harmonious communication to drive outstanding health and wellbeing research.

In health research, it covers both clinical and pre-clinical research ranging from basic medical research, animal research, applied research, and translational research to clinical research that conducted to support the development of knowledge in health issues.Pre-clinical research covers research that prepares the ground for clinical research with patients. HW CoReaccentuates on health research that generates high quality scientific knowledge leading to the advancement and utilization of knowledge to improve health and health care system. The HW CoRe aims to answer fundamental basic medical research and clinical research questions, improve health in term of prevention, management, treatment and rehabilitation; as well as to establish personalized healthcare that suit Malaysia ecosystem in particular and Asia or worldwide in general. The scopes range from fundamental research that produce scientifically validated research outputs focuses on improving health, transformation of laboratory health research to clinical health research, promote the use of research to enhance clinical or surgical procedures, therapy and treatment, clinical trials on vaccines, therapeutic drugs, health devices and other applications to improve health, health services research that examines the access to care, health care costs and processes, and the outcomes of health services for individuals and populations, research in health education and educational aspects of health promotion, translate and communicate health research to health policy, health practice, social and economic benefits etc.Due to the complexities of health care services and systems, exploring and deciphering the routine, costs, quality, accessibility, delivery, organization, financing, and outcomes of health care is crucial to stakeholders, policy makers and end-users of health-related issues.Research, evidence, and information are the base for comprehensive health policies. Health research in UiTM covers many disciplines of clinical and health sciences, from basic medical sciences, clinical sciences (medical, surgical, dental and health sciences), to community medical prevention, health related policies and health system enhancement. A better understanding of how diseases can be controlled at molecular or physiological level is needed through multidisciplinary health care. Health research may involve doing research into fundamental parts of medical research (include cellular and molecular biology, medical genetics, immunology, biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, neuroscience and psychologyetcthat leads to understanding of the cellular, molecular and physiological mechanisms underpinning human health and disease),public health and clinical research. HW CoRe also embraces non-S&T disciplines that relate to and support health related research, for instance cost-benefit studies, health management and investments, medico-legal and ethical issues, health product design and packaging, health tourism, good manufacturing practice etc. and encourages but not limited to cross-disciplinary health related studies with business, management, law, and even engineering faculties etc.

HW CoRealso encompasses disciplines that focus on the quality of life research in general wellbeing of individuals and societies. It covers ecology, economics, politics and culture. Research on wellbeing or welfareincorporates social, economic, psychological, spiritual or medical aspects. An emphasis on what causes wellbeing and how wellbeing affects other aspects of our life.

The research arealist in HW CoReremains dynamic and adaptive to the advancingresearch ecosystem to accommodate the new niche and committed interest of its affiliated researchers:
